Program Structure: PGY-4
The PGY-4 resident, as a senior resident, assumes an increased independence and responsibility. Two eight-week dedicated trauma rotations will be spent at Bryn Mawr Hospital and at University of Maryland Shock Trauma. Here, the PGY-4 spends most of the day in the operating room, gaining the experience and skills, as well as mentoring the PGY-1's and 2's that rotate through.

The rest of the year comprises of further sub-specialty training including Hand Surgery, Sports Medicine, Shoulder/Elbow Surgery and Musculoskeletal Oncology. The goal of the PGY-4 year is to prepare residents for the duties of the upcoming chief year as well as developing a well rounded repertoire of surgical and clinical skills in all sub-specialties.

Call Schedule
  • Bryn Mawr - 1 weekday call/wk. All other Rotations: No call
  • Maryland Shock Trauma - call is divided per staff at Maryland Shock Trauma
